Like so many people I know, I moved to New York with little more than a suitcase full of big plans. The idea was to survive a year and then to join my college roommate who was off traveling the world. I never left - that was a quarter century ago. To quote my younger daughter I am an “epic fail” when it comes to Manhattan guide book sort of stuff. She is right. I visited the Empire State building for the first time ever last week - to attend a party held on the 21st floor. Admittedly, I am not keen on heights. Still - pathetic. Just now I am getting to grips with Brooklyn. Have appetite will travel! But when it comes to meeting fantastic people and forming incredible dear friendships - in that I excel.
